Her Cries are Heard
Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness & Prevention

Violence and abusive behavior are escalating daily. Awareness, healing, and prevention are
vital to stop the cycle. Each year, over 12 million women and men are victims of intimate
partner violence, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

For help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Our Goal is to Prevent, Protect, and Provide Information (PPP)

Our sister, Phoebe Hightower,
and daughter/and niece,
Stacey Hightower, were
violently murdered. It
devastated our family, leaving
us to pick up the pieces that
shattered our lives.

She Cries in Silence

Anyone can become a
victim even You.
“Violence thrives in
silence.” In 2019 nearly
1,800 women were
murdered in the U.S.
(91% were by killed by
someone they knew).
We are the voices for
our loved ones. Our
goal is to stop this
number from climbing.”

Violence Does Not Discriminate and has No Boundaries

Our daughter/niece was
murdered in May 2013,
and a week later, another
woman was murdered in
our area. We compiled a
list of murdered victims in
our area going forward.
Within three years, over 66
names were on that list.
We stopped counting after
we reached 100.

Break the Silence – Love is not violent

It is vital to continue to bring awareness. We have been invited to numerous speaking
engagements and events, including churches. We also had two events, and there will be more to come.

READ OUR STORY….

“We are telling our story because we do not want you to experience the pain that we have endured.”

On Sunday, May 12, 2013 (Mother’s Day), Tracey Hightower, received the worst Mother’s
Day news any mother could hear. Her daughter, Stacey Hightower, at the age of 32 died.
Stacey did not die from natural causes or an accident. She was murdered because a
predator willingly decided to end her life.

Turning pain into purpose.

Vision:

Our vision is to break the silence surrounding domestic violence, teen dating abuse and sexual assault and to lessen the adverse impact on families and communities in Michigan and nationwide through awareness, prevention and trauma recovery programs.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to increase awareness, practice prevention, and improve the lives of individuals living with the devastating effects of abuse and violence.

We firmly believe that violence and abuse is preventable and can be stopped. Don’t ignore the signs of abuse. If you see something, say something.

"You don't have to be the next victim."
